How to measure size of buckles?
Some beginner to the world of buckles may be not sure about how to measure the size of buckle and may ask “Which buckle size should I use?”, this question is what we are frequently asked by our customers.
Whether you're working with Delrin buckles or plastic buckles, understanding the correct buckle measurement is essential. In this guide, we’ll show you how to measure inner width of side‑release buckles, cam buckles, and slide buckles, and how to choose the right cordlock or toggle buckle based on webbing or cord diameter.
Which buckle size should I use?
Please note: the size of buckles are not determined by their exterior dimension, they are measured by interior dimension, i.e. side release buckles, tension locks, and slide buckles are measured by the inner widths, when it comes to cord stopper or horn toggle button, we have to check out the cord diameter and find out cord lock with suitable hole diameter.

Popular Delrin & Plastic Buckle Sizes (Inner Width) – The most frequently used sizes include 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm, 32 mm, 38 mm, 44 mm, and 50 mm, ideal for everything from badge holders and cat collars to heavy-duty backpack straps and orthopedic restraints, please take references of below :

I.e. if your webbing width is 15 mm, refer to the above table, your webbing can then fit in buckles with 5/8" inner width.
How About Inner Length?
However, beyond inner width, inner length and opening height matter—especially for thicker webbing or Delrin heavy-duty buckles with large clearance, then we have to use slide buckles with larger inner length, i.e. although the design and inner width of our slide buckle B1 and wide mouth style B3 is quite similar, B3 can pass through thicker because of larger inner length, please check below :
